Overview
The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC) based in Scotland, is a unique facility relevant to all industry sectors of IB and promotes collaboration within industry and academia to drive innovation, find commercial application for new technology and ideas, and offers support for projects that bring biotechnology closer to industrialisation.
One of eight Centre's funded by the Scottish Funding Council and supported by Scottish Enterprise, the IBioIC has been in operation since January 2014 with the full and strong support of fourteen Scottish Higher Education Institutions, and industrial companies ranging from startups to multi-national corporations covering all four colours of Industrial Biotechnology. This allows us to create a single portal for industry to connect with IB technology.
The IBioIC recognises the extensive intellectual, physical and natural resources that exist in Scotland and seeks to accelerate, catalyse and leverage the development and commercial exploitation through this highly distinctive capability.
